Wedding Events

This highly anticipated wedding will take place high in the hills just south of Temecula’s wine country at the beautiful Condor’s Nest Ranch with more details on the following page. The wedding is hosted by the father and mother of the bride, Paul and Cynthia Dofton. Without their generous contributions, this event wouldn’t have been possible.

Rehearsal Dinner

A rehearsal dinner will take place at the Condor’s Nest Ranch on Friday, August 5th. It will be a catered dinner hosted by father and mother of the groom, Kent and Laura Palaniuk, and is for immediate family and wedding party. The dinner will consist of a gourmet taco bar catered by 220 Catering.

Ceremony & Reception

The ceremony is tentatively planned to start at 3pm at Condor’s Nest Ranch on August 6th. It will be immediately followed by the cocktail hour and dinner reception overlooking the valley.

Sunday Brunch

Our parents decided to extend our stay at the ranch through Sunday and will be hosting a farewell brunch for the bride and groom and their families.

Paige’s Family

Paige’s family consists of her dad Paul, mom Cynthia, and older brothers Nick and Jon. Since before she can remember, Paige’s family has been scattered across states and, at one point, continents. Therefore, her family is very important to her and any time they spend with each other is precious. They have been fortunate to enjoy many spectacular vacations together to Africa, Europe, and across the Middle East. Even though they may be separated by miles, they have managed to stay very close and have always held true to their special ‘mid-west’ sarcastic style humor. As the years have gone by, the family has grown. In 2006 Nick married his savvy wife Jacki and a couple years later Paige’s adorable niece Janey arrived. This family can’t wait to initiate Kyle into their intimate circle. Paige is so grateful for all the support they have provided her thus far in her life and is especially thankful for all the hard work and time they have poured into this wedding.

Kyle’s Family

There are few of us, Palaniuks, but make up for it with our notoriously outgoing personalities. You’ve got Laura, who’ll always find a way to make you feel comfortable. Laura knows everyone! And she always seems to have a smile on her face and want to know how you are feeling. Kent believes in tough love, but he could also be one of the goofiest people you’ve ever met. Furthermore, his deep interest in humanities and culture keeps him well balanced. Kelsey is a one-of-a-kind girl. Her talents in communication, athletics, and art (among many others!) keep her only brother proud. Near or far from one-another, us Palaniuks always work together and just get things done. Despite all adversity, we’ve always supported each other and surmounted any obstacles in our lives. We’re very proud of our Ukrainian roots and are perhaps even more proud of the new adoption of Paige and the Doftons into our own family.

The Bridesmaids

Becky Black

Paige and Becky have known each other for about 7 years now. They were fast friends starting their freshman year at Pacific Lutheran University. They supported each other through the ups and downs of undergrad pre-med and were able to squeeze in laughter between the study sessions. They also supported each other through life milestones and relationships. Becky is both a determined and compassionate person who is currently excelling in med school while also juggling the responsibilities of being a Lieutenant in the US army (is that the right rank, Becky? hehe). Becky was recently married on January 1st, 2011 and Paige was very happy to take part in that special day. Paige can’t wait to share her wedding day with her and is looking forward to Becky’s veteran bride advice. Paige is also looking forward to the evolution of their friendship for many years to come.

Jordan Lytle

Paige can’t even keep track of the number of years she has known Jordan. She was one of her first friends upon moving to Anacortes, WA after a life abroad. It was a hard transition, but Jordan provided lots of comic relief during high school. Paige has countless humorous memories and several ridiculous pictures capturing those awkward high school years (especially those formal dances!). It can be hard for friends to make the transition from high school to life beyond, but Paige is very lucky to call Jordan a friend 11 years strong! They both share interests in music, art, and books. Without Jordan, Paige never would’ve discovered some of her favorite artists. Currently, Jordan and Paige are taking part in their own little ‘book club’ focusing on modern women in relationships, work, family, history, etc. They are supporting each other in this transition into marriage and big responsibilities. Jordan is a recent homeowner and newly engaged. There will be lots of advice swapping between them!

Kelsey Palaniuk

In case you didn’t guess from the name, Kelsey is Kyle’s older sister. Kyle’s family is very close and over the course of Paige and Kyle’s relationship, Paige was able to spend lots of quality time with Kelsey on family trips at the lake cabin, on the Rouge River, in Mexico, and all across the Northwest. Kelsey is a very outgoing individual who loves to gather people together and make things happen. She is a savvy PR rep and has already been an asset in the wedding preparations. With Kelsey being Kyle’s sister, Paige can depend on her to play a large role in their future.  Growing up as the youngest with two older brothers, Paige never imagined what having a sister would be like and she looks forward to seeing how her relationship with Kelsey evolves. Paige couldn’t imagine her ‘bridal brigade’ without her.

Amanda Villiott

Paige and Amanda became friends around the same time as Jordan. Amanda and Jordan already had a long history of friendship and were kind enough to welcome Paige into their ‘circle’. Together, Paige and Amanda have shared many Northwest adventures hiking in the Cascades, camping on islands in the San Juans, nights bar hopping in Bellingham, and dancing late into the night to folksy Northwest bands. Amanda is very easygoing and loves to have a good time. In fact, after some contemplation, Paige cannot recall them ever having any kind of argument or conflict. Perhaps it is Amanda’s extreme patience, which is portrayed  in her jobs ranging from working in a nursing home to her current career of working with low income youth in the public school system. Paige is so thankful for her long and evolving friendships with both Amanda and Jordan and it was a no brainer when it came time to picking her wedding party.

Flower Girls

Janey Carron

Janey is Paige’s little niece and the daughter of this awesome website designer (Paige’s brother Nick) and her mom Jacki. Janey is a bright, talkative, and outgoing little girl. Paige cherishes every moment she has with Janey and is in awe with how quickly she has developed into a smart and charming person. Nick keeps everyone updated on her progress with frequent emails of pictures, videos, and stories. She will have just turned 3 when she helps Paige walk down the aisle in August. Hopefully Janey won’t mind having all eyes on her, which can be intimidating for anyone, especially a three year old!

Emma Dofton

Emma is best described as Paige’s ‘mini-me’. She is a spunky 6 year old full of attitude and humor. Hopefully she is not as stubborn as Paige was! While growing up, Paige shared attributes with Emma such as having two older brothers and simultaneously loving the girly dresses while playing in the dirt. Paige was raised watching the Simpsons with her older brothers. During a recent phone conversation Emma was describing to Paige how much she enjoys watching the Simpsons with her older brother Aiden and Paige felt as if she were talking to herself from the past! Ironically, when Cynthia was naming Paige she almost selected ‘Emma’.

Haley Gass

From day one, Paige’s visits down to California involved the neighbor girl Haley stopping by frequently to chat and play with the animals. Paige met Haley when she was only 4 and can’t believe she just celebrated her 7th birthday. In that time, Paige has spent lots of time with Haley during their visits and the many dinners their families have shared, especially holiday celebrations. One afternoon after Paige was recently engaged, Haley watched the show ‘Say Yes to the Dress” with Paige. After seeing that show, Haley could not stop talking about what she would wear to Paige’s wedding. Well now she knows!

The Groomsmen

Zach Batson

Oh Zach… He was that guy that Ian brought to a party we threw in college, loud, acting all crazy, knocking things over. I had quite a conflicted first impression of the kid. But Ian kept telling me, “Man, I’m telling you, you guys will totally get along!” After a few more times spent with Zach, I realized that his resiliently positive attitude, his immense love of life and friends, and the profound amount of energy he surrounds you with at each passing moment was something I couldn’t live without. When I’m around Zach I can really be my goofy self. We’ve spent countless late nights jamming our hearts away and making funny movies together. I will definitely be counting on Zach to give me advice on being a good husband! Zach, you will always be one of my best friends.

Jon Cummings

Oh, Jonny. Jon and I went from odd acquaintances to brothers, and beyond. The chemistry between us is volatile yet patient. We are the closest to brothers that I can imagine without having one for real. It seems like we’ve been through it all and it all happened so fast. In the end, though, when I think of Jon, I think of someone that constantly challenges me, keeps me on my toes, teaches me, supports me, and I look up to him. Jon’s core values are as strong as I know, and trust me I have seen them at test. His breadth of knowledge is unlike anyone’s I know, his physical talent only makes me want to strive to meet it, and above all, his heart seems to always be in the right place. Jon, I’ll never forget all of our crazy times in the dorms, or the awesome adventures we endured on our backpacking trip through Central America. You were a natural choice for my best man, and I thank you for all that you have helped me become.

Ian Englund

Ian. Don’t be fooled by his coy demeanor. This tasteful young lad will surprise you with his keen sense of humor, his deep interest in adventure, and his talent for having a good time. I got to know Ian 8 years ago in 2003 on a jazz ensemble tour in college. We shared a taste for rum and coke (light on the rum please) and continued to share many common interests together. We had several economics classes together, played music, painted houses, got to be roommates for while, and even worked together. Ian’s pace of life is cool and collected. He always pointed out a whole new way of me to look at things. I look up to Ian for his ability to keep calm through adversity, and reach results in unconventional ways. Ian, you’re a brother to me. I feel honored to have you as a groomsman.

Chris Kaberle

As the newest member of the groomsmen and my newest friend altogether, I can’t chalk this full of anecdotes of a long-lasting friendship. However, I could easily list off at least twenty different times in the past 4 months that I have known Chris that he made me laugh hysterically. Chris and I are both fresh meat in our office at JPMorgan Chase Bank. We are both new to the OC and naturally were both looking for new friendship. I love his eagerness to get to know people and his dry sense of humor is very charming. We quickly developed the type of friendship where any dissolution of agreement can pass without saying. He’s sarcastic, but keeps everyone smiling and is always up for anything. I have a feeling that Chris is going to remain a big part of Paige and I’s lives together. I’m excited to have you be a formal part of my new life as a husband.

Rick Schultz

Slick Rick! Talk about going way back… I have been friends with Rick for over 20 years! Do the math, we had the same kindergarten teacher. RIck is also my only groomsman from good ol’ North Bend. I can’t even start to tell stories for there are far too many. I’m so grateful that we were able to meet up yet again down here in Southern California. Rick and I have shared so much in our lifetimes, I feel like I can talk about nearly any past event in my life and he can relate on the same level. Rick is also a great listener, but he’s willing to put in his two cents and can do so without making you realize that he may disagree. Rick keeps me on my toes, and especially in the last few months he has really made life easier for me to adjust here in California. I couldn’t imagine Rick not being part of my wedding. Rick, our friendship is invaluable to me.
